THEY'VE GOT EACH OTHER'S BACKS & BABY GOT BACK

Do you know what makes a great baseball team?
When your teammates have your back.
On a rare afternoon when Justin Verlander did NOT have his best stuff,
Victor Martinez, still, gave Verlander his 22nd win by picking the Tigers up by the bootstraps with a 7th-inning Grand Slam!
Detroit swept Cleveland with an 8-6 victory to send the Tribe 9 1/2 games back!!
I'll bet the Indians are REAL pleased with dissing Martinez.
V-Mart went 5-for-13 with 2 homers and 10 RBIs in the sweep of his former team!!!
It was Verlander's major league-leading 22nd win and 10th straight victory.
JV is the first Detroit pitcher to win 10 consecutive decisions since Jack Morris
in 1983.
He's the first to win 10 straight starts since Hall of Famer Hal Newhouser in 1946.
His 22 wins are the most for a Detroit pitcher since Joe Coleman went 23-15 in 1973.
I wonder if he will ever get close to the 31 wins that Denny McLain racked-up in 1968?
Keep in mind that no one has reached 30 wins since McLain...and that's because Major League Baseball lowered the pitching mound from 15 inches to 10 inches in 1969.
But Verlander is a special pitcher. You never know...

As part of yesterday's RACK-OFF!, I featured Kim's sweet rackage...today I'm going with her World-Class Booty...
