SUNDAY RECAP

Some thoughts from Sunday:
The Detroit Lions are for real.
The Indianapolis Colts are screwed without Peyton Manning.
Tony Romo makes really bad decisions.
One day, in the near future, Cam Newton is gonna be an elite quarterback in the NFL.

I made a pit stop at TARGET, after a ballgame last week, and bought a couple packs of football cards. I pulled these puppies...

Fairley's out with a fractured left foot, so he didn't play on Sunday - but he's gonna be a good one...

Newton broke the record for the highest yardage total by an NFL quarterback in his first game. He completed 24 of 37 passes for 422 yards and 2 touchdowns, scored a rushing TD and gave-up 1 interception...

The folks over a
BUSTED COVERAGE shelled-out $1,525.00 for the pants Cam Newton wore during the BCS National Championship game. Then they got PLAYBOY Playmate Jaime Edmondson to climb into them for a photo shoot...

Enough about the pigskin. Time to hit the ballpark.
What do the Titanic and the September version of the Boston Red Sox have in common?
I think you know...
Boston lost 9-1 on Sunday to get swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays, now, trail the Red Sox by a mere 3 1/2 games!
At the end of August Terry Francona was baseball's Troy Polamalu...

Losing is taking it's toll...

The Texas Rangers walloped the Oakland A's 8-1.
Adrian Beltre went 4-for-5 with 2 homers, the first of which was his 300th career dinger, and 3 RBIs...
