Francoeur was supposed to be a franchise player for the Braves. Like so many over-hyped rookies before him, it never panned-out. He had a few good seasons in Atlanta before management soured on him and traded him to the New York Mets. After a brief, uneventful stint with the Mets, Francoeur was traded to the Texas Rangers. He played-out the last month-or-so of the 2010 season with Texas and during the off-season signed with the Kansas City Royals.
He seems to have found a home in KC. A week ago, when the Royals were in Detroit, Jeff Francoeur homered for his 1,000th career hit. On Tuesday night, Francoeur went 3-for-5 with a homer to help the Royals beat the Oakland A's 7-4. He also became the first player in the majors with at least 40 doubles and 20 stolen bases.
I've always liked Jeff Francoeur. He's a good ballplayer. The dude probably has the BEST outfield arm in the major leagues! He just signed a two year extension with the Royals so I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot of him at Comerica Park. I hope he does well in Kansas City.

Jon Lester pitched 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, 1 walk and fired 11 strikeouts.
Boston had 20 hits. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Josh Reddick homered and Marco Scutaro went 4-for-5 with 4 RBIs. The Red Sox laid the beat-down on the Blue Jays 14-0.
