IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR

So, this happened...

The Yankees sent pitchers D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar to the Mariners in exchange for future Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki and some cash.
Suzuki simply went to the opposing clubhouse since New York was visiting Seattle for a 3-game series.
Ichiro took over Nick Swisher's (DL) spot in right field. He batted 8th - the first time Suzuki has started a game batting anywhere other than the top three spots in the lineup.
Suzuki went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in his Yankees debut and the Yankees beat the Mariners 4-1.

The Detroit Tigers picked-up infielder Omar Infante and starter Anibal Sanchez from the Miami Marlins.
The Marlins received the Tigers' top prospect, pitcher Jacob Turner, as well as catching prospect Rob Brantly and LHP Brian Flynn. Detroit, also, managed to get a 1st-round draft pick in a swap of selections from last week's Competitive Balance Lottery.
Detroit had no choice but to acquire a decent defensive second baseman THAT CAN HIT.
If the Tigers want to make a legit run for the playoffs they can't slide by with Ryan Raburn (.172), Ramon Santiago (.216) and Danny Worth (.215).
Former Tiger Infante (2002 - 07) is packin' a .287 batting average with 23 doubles, 8 homers, 33 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
I don't know how thrilled I am about giving up Jacob Turner.
Turner's supposed to report to the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs.
We shall see how that arm pans out.
