THOSE AMAZIN` TWINS...RIP JOHNNY PESKY

Hi guys! I'm back from my camping trip.

The amazin' Minnesota Twins, who are 15 games below .500 and 12 1/2 games out of 1st in the AL Central, had 18 hits in a 9-3 whomping of the Tigers.
Anibal Sanchez, who allowed 12 hits and 5 runs over 5 innings, feels a bad-ass migraine coming - while Jacob Turner feels nothing but serenity.

Brandon Inge is on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right shoulder.
Inge has 12 homers and 52 RBIs. This is his third time on the disabled list this season. The previous two times were with groin strains.

Yesterday, while I was in the wilderness, Johnny Pesky died.
I saw this on Twitter. It made me very sad.
I freakin` loved Johnny Pesky.
One of the BEST damn baseball books I`ve ever read was The Teammates: A Portrait of a Friendship by David Halberstam. It chronicles the lifelong friendship of Ted Williams, Dominic DiMaggio, Bobby Doerr, and Johnny Pesky. I highly recommend this book - it`s awesome!
Anyways, Johnny Pesky served, in some capacity, with the Red Sox for over 60 years!
If you go to Fenway, the right-field foul pole is covered in signatures - because everyone wants to sign ``Pesky`s Pole.``
Pesky made his major league debut in 1942. In his rookie season he had 205 hits and batted .331.
He served the next three years in the Navy during World War II.
After the war he played with Boston until 1952. He, then, played 2 seasons in Detroit and Washington.
Over 1270 regular season games, Pesky hit 17 homers, 404 RBIs, 1455 hits and batted .307.
He was 92 years old.
