A DAMN GOOD SATURDAY

Remember, back in 2004, when the amazing Pedro Martinez got beat by the New York Yankees and said: "What can I say? I tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy."
After that the douchebag Yankees' fans would chant "Who's your daddy?" whenever Pedro pitched.
Well, guess who's CC Sabathia's daddy???
The freakin' Boston Red Sox...that's who...
Wanna know Sabathia's numbers against the Red Sox this season?
Here ya go: 0-4 with a 7.20 ERA.
Here's CC's line from Saturday: 6 innings pitched, 9 hits, 7 runs, 1 walk and
6 Ks.
Jacoby Ellsbury hit a 3-run homer and a career-high 6 RBIs, and Carl Crawford went 3-for-4 as the Red Sox beat the Yankees 10-4 on Saturday.

...and in the Never-Seen-This-At-A-Ballgame-Before file... in the bottom of the 6th inning, there was a delay when a vendor working an aisle behind home plate somehow lost a supply of beers over the short wall, sending well over a dozen green cans all over the dirt near New York's on-deck circle!
The spill was featured on the national television broadcast, and Joe Buck and Tim McCarver offered to pay for the guy's beer supply. Buck said it could be a conflict of interest since one of FOX SPORTS big sponsors is Budweiser and the spilled beers were green cans((Heinekens)...

Justin Verlander got his 16th win yesterday with a 4-3 Tigers' victory over the Royals.
He also got a little bit of help from Austin Jackson.
Verlander's first pitch of the game got clobbered by Alex Gordon...Jackson tracked-down the 409-foot shot and leapt at the wall...and robbed Gordon of a homer!

Verlander went on to pitch 7 innings, allowed 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and struck-out 8 KC batters.
Verlander passed Denny McClain for 9th place on the Tigers career strikeouts list. JV now sits at 1,151 Ks!!

It was a record breaking-night for Detroit pitching.
The Big Potato closed-out the win for the Tigers.
Jose Valverde preserved the win in the 9th for his 32nd straight save to start the season, matching the club record set by AL MVP Willie Hernandez in 1984.

In the 8th inning Victor Martinez suffered a left knee sprain trying to avoid the tag at home plate...

Holy Crap!! The Oakland A's won a road game...with authority!!!
The A's shutout the Tampa Bay Rays 8-0.
Brandon McCarthy was magnificent! McCarthy pitched 8 innings, allowed 5 hits, NO runs, NO walks and fired 5 Ks.
This guy's stikes-to-balls ratio has been stupendous...McCarthy threw 109 pitches - 75 for strikes!

David DeJesus went YARD TWICE!!!
