SATURDAY RECAP...HOF INDUCTION DAY

Terry Francona got his 1,000th win as a major league manager on Saturday.
The Red Sox beat the Mariners 3-1.
Josh Beckett got the win(9-3). Beckett pitched 7 innings, allowed 7 hits, 1 run,
1 walk and added 7 strikeouts.
Daniel Bard pitched 1 inning, allowed 1 hit, 1 walk and served-up 1 K.
He has now held teams scoreless in 24 straight innings - the longest active shutout streak in the majors.



The Twins finally beat the Tigers. Minnesota won 4-1.
A scene not often repeated this season - Twins celebrating...



Much like the Tigers domination over the Twins...the Yankees had an 11 game winning-streak going against the Oakland A's. On Saturday it ended. The A's beat the Yankees 4-3.
Josh Willingham and Hideki Matsui went YARD.
Rich Harden got the win. Harden went 5 1/3 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs,
4 walks and notched 6 Ks.
Somebody's still a crowd favourite in NYC...

The Baseball Hall of Fame inductions are today. The Class of 2011 will be: Roberto Alomar, Pat Gillick and Bert Blyleven...
