ARNIE AT PNC...GREAT CELLPHONE HOLDERS

The Oakland A's road woes continue to haunt them.
Oakland had a 3-1 lead until Detroit lit-up A's starter Guillermo Moscoso
for 6 runs.
The Tigers beat the A's 8-3.
Miguel Cabrera and Carlos Guillen went YARD in the 5th.
V-Mart scored on a bizarre play at the plate...running toward home plate, attempting to beat the throw, he decided not to slide...Kurt Suzuki caught the ball and bellyflopped toward the plate but Martinez lunged back with his arm to touch the plate!! Weird...had Suzuki just laid on the plate Martinez would've had nothing to touch and been OUT!!!

THE RETURN OF SCOTT SIZEMORE ended up being a bust too. In the 4th inning, Sizemore was squaring to bunt when Rick Porcello unleashed some high & inside chin-music that hit Sizemore in the chin. He was sent to the hospital and x-rays were negative. He is listed as day-to-day.

The HBWHOF likes good baseball stories. My current favourite is the fact that Pittsburgh, now, has a first-class baseball team to go along with their first-class baseball park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 to take a 1/2 game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central.
Arnold Palmer and his wife Kathleen were at the game Monday night...

And just so you know - Arnie's NOT a bandwagon-jumper(As reported here by Big League Stew).
Back on September 8th, 2009, Arnie celebrated his 80th birthday(Sept 10th) by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a Pirates - Cubs' game. That night was Arnold Palmer Bobblehead Night at PNC Park...

Remember cellphone-toting Paraguay fan Larissa Riquelme from last year's World Cup...

Well, Ms. Riquelme was spotted again...cheering-on Paraguay in their quarterfinal match against Brazil in the Copa América on Sunday....

...and she brought along a friend - fellow model Patty Orué...
